Why live abroad?

.

Creative inspiration. Different languages, historic architecture, new music, local art, delicious smells… everything is different. How can you NOT be inspired when traveling?

Sense of history. World history and current events take on new meaning after you’ve seen the monuments, walked the streets and made friends with people from different countries.

Appreciation. Sometimes living abroad helps you to understand and appreciate your own culture and traditions in a new, more meaningful way.

Perspective. Travelling abroad gives you the chance to think about your life, and the world, from a new perspective. You can’t help but go back to your “old” life with new ideas and a unique perspective.

Family bonding. A family (or a couple) that travels together, stays together. So much so, that you need to remind yourself to break out of your family bubble and make some friends!

Friends. Make the effort to talk to other people while you are traveling or living abroad. The time you spend with other people will be the most memorable parts of your trip.

Confidence. Living as a foreigner teaches you how to be adaptable and resilient. You will not be the expert in the room. Or the country. But you will figure out as you go along.

Language. Taking a séjour is a great way to learn a foreign language.

Food. Inspire your palate with local ingredients, fresh flavors and new dishes. Learn to enjoy food again.

Adventure. Living abroad reminds us that there is more to life than work and responsibilities. Take a séjour. Shake things up. Re-energize your life. Be amazed by something.
